VSMT: Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (Veterinary
Chiropractic).  Restores normal motion across the joint plane or
motion unit to allow for proper nervous system transmission and
reflex functioning.  Abnormal motion can lead to negative changes in
circulation, soft tissue structures, brain and nerve function, and the
immune system.

Equine Acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.  Veterinary
acupuncture stimulates points along the body's energy meridians that
stimulate the brain and body to make endorphins and relieve pain.  The
5-Element Theory in Chinese Medicine also accounts for personality
(constitution) and zang-fu organ relationships where points along skin
meridians can affect deeper organs (spleen, liver, heart, kidney, etc).

Saddle Fit Evaluation:  Saddle fit is more than brand name and a tree width.
In my experience, poor saddle fit is responsible for the majority of the back
problems and behavioral training issues I treat. While there are many
articles describing proper saddle fit, most people still don't know how the
horse's anatomy affects and is affected by saddle fit. Did you know most
horses are LEFT-handed, that the shoulders can move 4-8 inches back
through range of motion, and the top of the scapula is cartilage, not bone?

Shoeing Evaluation: No Hoof, No Horse.  The base of your horse's support,
his four hooves, can make or break his performance. As part of a whole
horse evaluation, hoof care and shoeing is evaluated to determine stress
or strain on limbs and spine, or if there is indication of any compensatory
changes in the body.  The physics is in the feet!

Gait Analysis: While most unsoundness or crookedness can be diagnosed
with visual or hearing senses, basic tracking, and palpation, subtle changes
may benefit from videography with computerized gait analysis.  Software
programs also provide objective evidence of response to treatment.
Riding/Training: I've been on horseback since I was 5 years old, and have
numerous championships from both the U.S. and Canadian show circuits.
I've ridden hunters, jumpers, equitation and medals, cross-country,
dressage, cutters, and guided trail-rides. I understand what it takes to be
successful both in and out of the arena, and can ride your horse to further
determine the cause of decreased performance, or make training
recommendations to maximize healing.
Massage Therapy (for horse OR rider!). Certified Massage Practitioner
graduate of the Pacific School of Massage and Healing Arts.  With
experience in massage therapy, energy work, intuition, and
transformational bodywork (sm), I can integrate muscle and soft tissue
therapy with the other modalities. Rider influence on the horse is also
considered, whether physical or emotional, and pathologic body mechanics
can be addressed.

Chinese Herbal Medicine: Chinese herbs have been used for thousands of
years to aid in healing.  Specific blends of herbs are often used in
conjunction with acupuncture therapy to hasten healing or to correct
imbalances in the body or mind.
