Three Cheers! What some of the Inspiritus Equine, Inc. clients have to say: Hi Joanna, Mistral is doing much better! Her appetite and overall brightness continue to be greatly improved. Eating/drinking/peeing/pooping are all normal. The only thing I notice is she is still won't roll when turned out in the sand arena. But from dirt patterns on her body and on her sox, I believe she is lying down in her stall at least some days. Last night and Monday night I had great rides on her: 10 min walk-5 min trot-5 min walk-5 min trot-5 min walk. She was forward, rhythmic, stretching down, and seemed to enjoy the work. Tomorrow will be our fourth time with that pattern. Since I don't have email at home, I will try calling you over the weekend to see what our next week's work should be. I'm feeling we can safely go to a four-week cycle of treatment. She's standing square under herself most of the time and shows no back soreness. She did not stumble once during our half-hour ride last night! Unless you feel it's important to see her before then, let's plan on 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29. (I have yoga at the Queen Tuesday nights at 6:30, so this allows a little time in case you're late, and extra time to walk her a bit after treatment, and still get there on time.) I believe Sherry wants you to treat another horse for her, Buster (her 30 year old guy who still gives lessons and competes at Intro and Training levels!); also I think Sue Brewster wants another treatment for Emily, so you'd probably have a pretty full afternoon at our barn. Thank you so much, Joanna. I pretty much think you walk on water! C.B. (P.S. Can you bring a copy of the article when you come next? Sherry and I will copy it.) __________________________________________________ I do need to schedule an appointment with you for your next visit to evaluate my mare's spine. She flexes well to the left now and is moving nicely during her training. No bucking or kicking at all with her new saddle. Jochan did adjust it as she has grown and developed a lot more muscle due to training 3x/wk. After the adjustment, Kuulei moved even better and had a wonderful lesson yesterday. Nikki is now riding her. Jochan was very impressed with her riding skills and told me that Kuulei was a really good horse to perform as she did with the saddle fitting not quite fitting her before he adjusted it. And to think I had been advised to sell her!!!! We love her. Again, thank you for your kindness and great wisdom. Aloha, Rebecca (here on Maui at the Maui Horse Center) _______________________________________________________________ "Hi guys, Just had to write to brag for a minute. Valentijn cleaned up 2007 Hawaii Year End Awards he won First level and also received Miss Fair Award (each show judges vote on which horse has the most potential) USDF Horse of the Year 17th in First level US KWPN (Dutch Warmblood) 2nd place......!!!!!! I am soooo proud of him! I can't believe he is the second best Dutchman in the US in First level. And that during a year that I hardly rode him and rarely practiced for the shows. One time I literally hadn't ridden him for 3 weeks. Maybe if I actually helped him a little he could do a little better. Thanks for being part of his team! --Stefanie" _________________________________________________________________ "Dear Joanna, I have always wanted horses to be a part of my future, occasionally toying with the idea of becoming a vet. However, there was always this lingering feeling of boredom about the image of me becoming a vet. I wanted to do something different; I wanted to do something that would make me stand out and be remembered in the world. So, when I had the chance to be your intern, I thought I would learn a ton of western horse science. However, after seeing you work on the first horse of the day, I knew my assumptions were completely off. Not only did I learn western horse science, but I also learned the incredibly unique concept of eastern horse medicine, acupuncture, and other numerous, life altering methods that you some how have congregated in your mind. Basically, to sum it all up, you are the most amazing person I have ever met. You are a modern day Jesus for horses and I have never seen such phenomenal results in all different types of horses within a simple hour of you working on them! I would recommend you to anyone and I know I would sleep soundly because you have this incredible, supernatural presence about you with horses and humans alike. I will never forget the impact you have had on me. Not only that, but I finally found a future with horses that I would be proud to withhold; you are my idol and I wish you the greatest luck in your journey with horses! Love, Shayne" _____________________________________________________________________ Hi Dr. Robson, Super great to rec'v your card in the mail. Is that your horse? He/she is very pretty. I am sorry I didn't report sooner. Balanchine is a different horse since your visit. Alot more energy, running and bucking. I was happy to hear his good report from you, but you must have opened some pathways for him. His back seems to have raised and is more flat, like it looked when I bought him, and he doesn't carry his neck upside down. Thanks a million! I am happy to hear you will be returning soon and will let everyone know the approximate time frame and let you know how many people I come up with. Wishing you the best, till we see you again & always. Aloha, Mary & Balanchine _____________________________________________________________________ "Joanna, In all sincerity, you are truly a miracle worker. My mare, Lola, is remarkably improved. While I have only had the opportunity to ride her briefly this morning, one week after her treatment, I feel a tremendous difference in her movement. There is power from her hind end, whereas she had no impulsion previously, as discussed. She moves with an effortless uphill, smooth and rounded stride, rather than the stiff and rigid movement of the past. Her neck bends left and right equally without hesitation or resistance. Although I was not able to ride her any great length of time because it started to rain, she bends through her body in both directions without reservation and with extremely subtle cues. Her back is more rounded when backing, and she backs with greater speed and balance. I warmed her up sufficiently to spin her left and right in near perfect circles, which she was unable to do without forward movement prior to treatment. While riding her downhill she collected under herself, instead of falling on her front and hollowing her back. Her movement is far superior than when injected with steroids last year. Of equal importance, I have not seen her crib since her treatment. Furthermore, her temperament has returned to a more accepting and willing attitude, rather than the stiff, bracing, broncy, sulking, approach that had so much resistance. It’s amazing, our trainer Debbie had not seen us since the treatment day and she was blown away over how wonderful Rhythmly was moving & jumping. No swapping leads, no extra patting before the fences, just soft flowing movement... On Sunday he stood comfortably and got his first pair of hind shoes – amazing since in the past I could hardly get his hind feet cleaned and lightly filed without him jerking his foot & almost falling down." -- Sacramento, CA ____________________________________________________________________________ "It was great to meet you on Saturday and I cannot thank you enough for what you did for Beau (and Rosie too.) It was a fascinating and very educational afternoon...." -Vacaville, CA ___________________________________________________________________________________ "My horse has been great for the farrier! Until you treated her, she wouldn't hold up her back end for shoeing!" -Martinez, CA _________________________________________________________________________
"You were amazing! You took one look at my horse, told me exactly what was going on, demonstrated it to me so that I could understand, and then gave me the tools to fix it! Thank you!!" -Vacaville, CA
"Sabian has greatly benefitted from adjustments. I appreciate the mix of alternative and traditional...I've had non-vet chiros before, and definitely see the advantage of the combination." --Mandy M.
